Zinc

Zinc has multiple benefits

Zinc has many benefits. Zinc helps build the immune system and reduces inflammation. It can help reduce cholesterol, and it may help protect vision. Zinc is vital for diabetics.

Diabetics need zinc

Diabetics lose more zinc and have more trouble absorbing it— a double whammy. To complicate matters, zinc is used in insulin production, which is critical for diabetics.

Zinc every day

Taking 15 to 30 mg of zinc a day can improve blood sugar control and overall health. Avoid taking over 40 mg daily, as too much zinc interferes with body processes.

Ice Cream

Dairy poses no diabetic risks

A recent large study on dairy foods found that dairy fat doesn’t increase the risk of diabetes. Replacing dairy fat with whole grains lowered the risk, but that was the only substitution that helped.

Dairy poses no heart risks

Researchers also found that dairy foods don’t increase the risk of heart disease. Replacing dairy with red or processed meat increased the risk of heart disease, and replacing it with nuts lowered the risk.

We scream for ice cream

The most significant finding may be that ice cream lowered the risk of heart disease! Everyone knows that ice cream makes you happy, and a happy heart is a healthy heart.

Dairy is OK

Don’t fret too much over milk, cheese, or butter. They are better options than refined carbs. Whole grains and nuts are always good substitutes. And every once in a while, enjoy a scoop of ice cream, especially with family or friends.

Mind Sharpeners

Aging has mental effects

As we age, we tend to lose a bit of mental quickness. We all want to preserve as much of our mind as we can, especially after years of giving people a piece of our mind. :-)

Omega 3 can help

A recent review of a lot of research shows that omega-3 may help delay Alzheimer’s and memory and thinking problems. Adding omega-3 capsules to your daily routine may keep your mind sharp.

Blueberries are brain superfood

Blueberries are also an excellent way to protect your brain. They are a superfood when it comes to mental fitness. If you don’t always have fresh blueberries around, consider blueberry powder. Blueberry powder contains the essential compounds that help protect your brain. One of the key helpful compounds is the one that gives blueberries their dark blue colour.

Blueberry your coffee.

Add a teaspoon of blueberry powder to your coffee or tea every morning. This will help keep your mind sharp and make your coffee or tea taste even better.
