Prevent Uncomfortable Infection
Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are a common malady affecting 50 percent of all women. Symptoms of UTI vary, with a burning sensation while urinating being the most common. Having to pee frequently also is a symptom of a UTI. One of the best indicators a woman may have a UTI can be noticed when the pee is cloudy, dark, and has a strange smell. Feeling sluggish, tired, or confused can also indicate a UTI. In some cases, a UTI can progress to the point where blood can be detected in the urine. If left untreated, a UTI can result in an infection that gets into the bloodstream.
The condition should not be ignored. In most cases, antibiotics are prescribed to handle a Urinary Tract Infection. But there are many home remedies that may prevent a UTI. Regular consumption of real cranberry juice (not a cranberry flavoured beverage) can prevent a UTI. The acidity in the juice helps prevent the urinary infection because bacteria cannot thrive in an acidic environment.
Another home remedy for a UTI is large doses of garlic. The herb can sometimes work better than pharmaceuticals. Just crush a clove of garlic or use a garlic press to extract the essence of the herb. Throw away garlic skins and consume only the crushed garlic. Some people choose to mix their garlic with butter and spread it on a piece of bread and eat it. Cooking regularly with garlic can also help prevent UTIs.
